Space is not as vast as the human experience.
That's how it feels sometimes. This collection is the expression of the unexpressed that lives in my brain. The forms aren't figurative. If you have followed me at all, you know that I like to paint portraits. This new way of painting brings up hidden emotions and experiences. It's uncomfortable in hindsight, because often, when I discover the why of the image I've painted, I discover a hurt or a pain that has been buried. The global event in which we found ourselves forced me to think so differently about how I view the world...what normal might be...and these paintings reflect my search for meaning in the random turning of the world. My hope is always that my paintings would help others just as they help me. Enjoy...

“Art should look like art, trees and flowers and people, not weird shapes and splotches of color all smeared together.” ― Jennifer Estep
“Energy and motion made visible – memories arrested in space” ― Jackson Pollock These two quotes about abstract art reflect the progression of my thoughts on abstract art. The more I experiment with abstracts, the more I like them. I hope you enjoy! Some of these are hanging at The Bull Downtown for the month of June.
